Hi ,

Welcome to September!

It is wonderful to experience these glorious Spring days and see the garden coming to life again! Well, I know it will be when this lovely rain stops!

Once again we have much to share with you from the store and our community involvement.

Frequent Shopper and School Benefits Program

Our School Benefits Program continues to be successful and our 11 local schools are reaping the rewards. Over the past few weeks Store Owner, Jack Keeley, and School Benefits Program Coordinator, Anne Opferkuch, have visited 10 of our schools to present them with their latest cheques. Winthrop Gardens Supa IGA has donated over $32,000.00 to these schools since the program commenced in June 2011. \

Tips to Earn Points Faster

Here are some ways to help your school’s total grow faster without too much effort! These tips also apply to the individual Frequent Shopper Program.

  • Shop on a Tuesday as it is DOUBLE POINTS day for all Frequent Shoppers. So if you want to earn more points for yourself or your nominated school, make Tuesday the day to shop at Winthrop Gardens Supa IGA!
  • Visit the website and sign up on line to earn a bonus 250 points (this equates to $2.50) for yourself or your nominated school. Even if you are already a member, shop regularly, using your card and are earning points you can earn MORE! Just go to the SIGN UP icon, click and complete your details letting us know your existing Frequent Shopper card number (located on the back of your card) and if you have nominated a school to support or are shopping for individual points. Too easy!
  • School Benefits Program members – if your school does not have over 100 supporters yet you can earn 200 bonus points ($2.00) for every new member that joins up to 100, and if they join online they can earn an extra 250 points ($2.50).
  • Encourage others to join to help support your school. School Benefits Program members do not have to be parents of students at school. They can be family, friends, neighbours, school staff members and others just wanting to help a school.
  • Do you have children at more than one of our School Benefits Program schools? Simply get another card so that you can support both schools. Just alternate which card you use each week. No favourites then!

Visit the website for an update on how much each school has earned:

Roots and Shoots Program

Students at Winthrop Primary School are involved in the Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots Program.

This is an educational program for young people that inspires them to implement practical positive change for people, animals and the environment. One way they are doing this is by encouraging people to recycle their old mobile phones. A box for customers to donate their old mobile is located in the store. Let's help them out!
